In Passing

Poetry & Prose | February 22, 2016

eyes snap to eyes unknown and i am unfurled

as though

face to light

sea to stars

stumble across unknown features

unexpected opening breaking across cheekbones

curls of rose froth part for shell-teeth

and i think

if this is human then what are the rest of us doing

she moves on.

i am left glittering to face

the next traveler

stardust in my eyes
