Poetry & Prose

Full Circle

You told me that what goes around,

Always comes around

Always.

No matter what.

And when I told you that you were wrong,

You laughed and

Told me I’d understand someday.

Eighteen years later here we are,

Both a little older,

And both a little wiser.

Like two kites we drifted:

We let the wind take us

Wherever it liked.

And I figured I’d never get

Tangled up in you ever again.

But I was wrong and you were right.

I came back to you in the end,

Just like some piece of bad karma,

I came around full circle.

You have a gravity I can’t seem to break,

Just another moon stuck in your orbit.
